Questions before you join?

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are a few things people often want to know before joining the group.

Do I need an official ADHD diagnosis to join?+
No. The group is open to adults who have been diagnosed with ADHD, self-identify with ADHD traits, or are exploring whether ADHD may be part of their experience.
What happens during a typical group session?+
Each session combines psychoeducation, guided discussion, reflection, and practical somatic exercises. You’ll learn about ADHD and the nervous system while developing tools you can practice in everyday life.
Do I have to share personal experiences with the group?+
No. You’re encouraged to participate in ways that feel comfortable for you. There is no pressure to disclose personal information before you’re ready.
How can nervous system regulation help with ADHD?+
ADHD can affect more than attention. It can influence emotional regulation, overwhelm, motivation, task initiation, stress, and energy. Learning to recognize and respond to your nervous system can help you navigate these experiences with greater awareness and flexibility.
What if I struggle with procrastination, task paralysis, or feeling overwhelmed?+
Those are some of the experiences we’ll specifically explore. Rather than simply telling yourself to “try harder,” you’ll learn practical strategies for understanding what may be keeping you stuck and finding more supportive ways to move forward.
Is group therapy confidential?+
Confidentiality is an important part of creating a safe therapeutic environment. The facilitator is bound by professional confidentiality requirements, and group members are expected to respect one another’s privacy.
Do I have to attend every session?+
Yes. We ask participants to commit to the full six weeks. Regular attendance helps you get the most from the program while supporting trust, connection, and continuity within the group.
Is the group covered under insurance?+
It may be. The group is facilitated by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and integrates psychotherapy. Participants are encouraged to check with their insurance provider to confirm whether “Group Psychotherapy” services provided by an RP are covered under their plan.
What does it cost?+
The cost is $80 per session. A receipt will be provided after each session, which you may submit to your insurance provider if applicable. Missed sessions are non-refundable.
